Beautiful. Sustainable. Attainable. Those three words guide the work of Kaplan Thompson Architects. Their celebrated LEED Platinum BrightBuilt Barn project in Rockland, Maine, has captured the hearts and minds of many in the green building community and beyond. One reason: the desire to submit their beautiful building to the real-world test of actual energy performance. PowerDash is very happy to be part of the KTA team, supporting the project with its cost-effective, flexible energy monitoring solutions.
Thanks to PowerDash embeddable widgets, the BrightBuilt Barn website offers visitors an opportunity to explore the latest energy performance results from the building, with a dynamic graphing interface showing data for energy consumption, solar PV energy production, and solar hot water performance.
BrightBuilt Barn has been featured in The New York Times and was recognized by TreeHugger.com as its Best Single Family Home project for 2008. The future looks bright for BrightBuilt, and PowerDash is glad to be helping support this important project.
