Management Team

The PowerDash principals, Chuck Wright and Stephen Lapointe, each have over five years of experience developing solutions for web-based energy monitoring. Collectively, that work represents over 250 clean energy systems that are being monitored over the web.

Chuck Wright

Chuck Wright has been an innovator for several years in web-based energy monitoring. He combined his passion for clean energy and his expertise in hardware engineering to develop one of the very first low-cost, web-based data acquisition systems for onsite power generation and energy consumption.

In 2003, Chuck's consulting firm licensed this system for use by Conservation Services Group in what is considered  to be the first large-scale deployment of web-based data acquisition systems for clean energy in the US.

Prior to his work developing data logger hardware and web applications for energy monitoring, Chuck spent over 20 years as a hardware design engineer for IBM. Among his many achievements, Chuck played leadership roles in the development of the RISC System 6000, development of a new CAD database for microchip design, and the development of PowerPC microprocessors.

Stephen Lapointe

Since 2000, Stephen Lapointe has been partnering with leading organizations to develop innovative web applications that deliver on the promise of sustainability. Customers have included large institutions such as the United Nations Environment Programme and also smaller organizations that have been at the forefront of clean energy and energy efficiency.

When Conservation Services Group pioneered web-based energy monitoring back in 2003, they called on Stephen’s firm to develop the project's web application and customer-facing services. During the project’s ongoing development cycle, Stephen planned and implemented the application’s transformation into a flexible service for use by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative and the State of Texas.

In recent years, Stephen has shared his experiences as a speaker at national conferences on clean energy and green building, addressing such topics as data syndication in the energy sector and visual branding for sustainability.
